Omnisio has been acquired

We are thrilled to announce that we’ve been acquired by Google and will soon be joining the YouTube team, aligning us with the market leaders in online video. Together we’ll apply what we’ve learned about the space, and we’ll work to develop innovative products and features for the YouTube community. We believe we’ve only scratched the surface in terms of what’s possible with online video, and we are really looking forward to taking the video viewing — and creating — experience to the next level.

Since launching publicly in March, we at Omnisio have been thrilled to engage with our early community and build innovative applications that push the envelope of online video.  We’ve been continually surprised by the creative and interesting stuff our users have built on the Omnisio platform - from hilarious video compilations, to witty (and yes sometimes over the top) in-video comments, to informative presentations with slides synced with video.  The enthusiastic adoption of our tools has exceeded our wildest expectations.

Thanks,

Ryan, Julian and Simon
Co-founders of Omnisio

Our video is now the second most commented video on Omnisio.

But 700 of those comments came yesterday after posting on the youTube blog about our video’s success. (and boy are they bizarre)

Google will make a great partner - but you can be guaranteed that the comments will be filtered and the overall quality will be improved.

    BTW:

We were one of your first ever members - as soon as we read about you on a blog we joined.

This may be the fastest acquisition in Google history

Hopefully, like they did with YouTube, they will know give more detailed referrer stats with the videos - so that people know WHERE they traffic is coming from.

How are you celebrating this occasion?
